Interactive Projection Mapping at a Museum
Project Summary
For the Marion Cultural Alliance’s annual “Applaud the Arts” gala, I created an interactive projection mapping experience inspired by the theme Olympus Odyssey. The objective was to introduce a visually compelling centerpiece that would elevate the atmosphere and encourage guest participation within the museum environment.
Challenge: Create an engaging, theme-driven experience that stands out in a formal gala setting and encourages meaningful guest interaction.
Solution: A real-time generative installation using live camera input to transform attendees into classical Greek-style portrait busts, turning guests themselves into mythological figures and active participants in the artwork.
Execution
The system blended generative visuals with references to classical sculpture, bridging ancient mythology with contemporary digital media. Designed to be intuitive and accessible, the installation invited spontaneous interaction as guests moved through the space.
In addition to the interactive piece, I presented a selection of paintings at the museum and developed a site-specific projection mapping installation for the courtyard, creating a cohesive visual experience across multiple mediums and areas of the event.
